McCormick Place Cable Repair

The scope of work consisted of the repair and painting of concrete pylons that extended 60’ above the surface of the roof, the removal and replacement of a weather seal on the steel cables holding up the roof from the pylons. There were twelve (12) pylons with six (6) cables at each pylon.

This was a challenging job because the roof of the building was the original roof from the 1980’s, including concrete pavers that had been weathered by the lake for over thirty years. Madison had to devise a way to get equipment, manpower and materials up to the roof and into position to facilitate the work.  In the end, the project finished on time and on budget.
